Brooke and Beckett woke up early and as usual the first request from Brooke was that she wanted to play with her cousins! So I spent the morning supervising them outside as they ran around together. Fortunately, they all get along so well and have a great time! Since we didn’t have any plans in the morning and the kids were out playing, Jay took the opportunity to go back to bed to get a little more rest!
It was another very hot day! But, we’ve stopped checking the weather forecast and have come to expect clear blue skies and hot temperatures by now.
We had sandwiches at the villa for lunch and then Jay, Ryan, Brooke, Parker, and Serafina went swimming in the pool.
I was itching to go somewhere, so I took my little buddy (Beckett) to Marza beach down the street. It’s much easier to watch him at the beach anyway! He keeps himself occupied filling up buckets of water and playing endlessly in the sand. Besides, the pool deck at the villa is made out of marble or something incredibly slippery when wet. Even the adults had some close calls. So, I was constantly on edge when Beckett was playing near the pool praying he didn’t slip and fall.
After the beach/pool, we all cleaned up and got ready because our Riesi family was coming to the villa to spend the evening with us. They came around 5:30 and we all had some appetizers and enjoyed each other’s company before heading out to dinner. They rented a place for 2 weeks that was closer to us so we could see each other more. Flavia lives in London but took off the entire month of June and traveled home to Riesi! Gianni was great with the kids and spent some time coloring with them while we were all hanging out outside.
We popped the cork on a nice bottle of sparkling wine and were happy to be together! Beckett adorably went around saying “cin cin” to everyone so he could cheers with his cup of milk and join in on the celebrations.
Then, Grammy generously took us all out to eat at a Burger restaurant called Orlando in the main piazza of Pachino. We had an amazing table right in the piazza, but unfortunately there was some sort of political results rally in the middle of the square that interrupted our dinner haha. We finally got red meat, Jay got steak and I got a Wagyu burger. Somehow, Beckett scored a large helping of French fries at yet another restaurant.
We got back around 10:30 and unsurprisingly both kids fell asleep on 15 min drive back to the villa.
