We were up at 1:30am and left at 2:30am for the airport. We only got about 30 mins away when the highway was randomly closed and we got rerouted back on to the opposite direction on the highway with no way to get back heading north again. Eventually, we found a side road and made it to the airport. It was quite stressful to say the least!

We had pastries (again) for breakfast as we waited for the flight. Our flight was pretty uneventful except that they demanded we gate check our stroller even though there was amble overhead space…this ended up causing some issues. And we were borrowing the stroller from our good friends so we really didn’t want it to get lost or damaged in transit!

We arrived in Rome and took a bus to the gate and couldn’t get the stroller. We were told it would be sent to Boston so we navigated the Rome airport without a stroller for Beckett.
Beckett fell asleep as we taxied to takeoff and then woke up 10 mins later as Jaclyn tried to take off Beckett’s headphones. She was trying to make him more comfortable but admits that it wasn’t worth accidentally waking him up! He was a complete wild child for ~4 hours including throwing his stickers all over the place as well as a croissant, trying to climb over the seats etc and there was an emergency bathroom situation involved too.
He slept for 3 hours and then woke up super happy until he had the wet pastry and screamed for 20 mins. We finally got him calm and we landed in Boston where Al would pick us up from Logan! Thank you again, Al!
